Living Life...
Ahhh... life. Laughter. Love. Longing. All great L words that combine in Life.
I've learned to appreciate life a little more. For a long time I had serious depression and anxiety. I still battle anxiety, but I am no longer on meds for depression. I've had to change my outlook on life, to view the positive, fight the negative and reinforce myself as a human being.
Why am I telling you this? It is important. It is something I share because I truly want to help others with these issues. I wrote an article on Living With Depression and Anxiety. The one that has the most views is The Importance of Communicating With Your Children.
I wont' go in to a lot here. You can read if you like. I'm not afraid of sharing something like this if it can help someone else out there. Therapists aren't exactly experts unless they've gone through similar situations in their own life. It is hard for people to understand what others go through unless they've lived it themselves. Especially something as severe as depression. It is still a battle, but one I willingly fight these days. I have much to live for.
Favorite Band: Linkin Park. Favorite Movie: Legend.

I completely understand you. My mother has always, and still suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. Good on you for getting through it. :)
Right there with ya, girlie! Although I haven't kicked the anti-depressants yet. Was thinking about cutting back at the first of the year but then I blew out my knee which threw me off kilter and I decided the timing wasn't good!
And I agree with you totally that it is worth talking about if it helps someone else to know that they are not alone! I'm kind of into embracing and speaking my truth lately in a quest for ... emotional freedom I suppose!
Thanks for your recent kind comments on my blog! I appreciate you and I'm glad to count you among my friends! :)
I'm right there with you. Thanks for sharing your article.
(And I love Linkin Park too!)
I respect your willingness to put your struggles out there in order to help others. You never know how many will benefit from your article(s).
Have a great day!
You have had a tough time yet you have come out of that dark tunnel.
You have my utmost admiration.
Good luck.
Yvonne,
Depression is a never ending battle with yourself. I know from personal experience. Good for you, for teaching yourself to always look for the positive side of things. That's a skill I had to teach myself too, and I think I've finally gotten a handle on it.
Thanks for sharing such personal stuff. Wonderful post!
Thank you for sharing and well done for getting through something so challenging.
Thanks, all of you. I'm very happy to have "met" you through the blogosphere!
For those who struggle with this too, we fight the good fight. I'm always happy to try and help.
Summer! Woohoo I love Linkin Park. Hope you like my next few musical choices. :D
Oh--thanks for sharing this! *trots off to clicky links*
I'm so glad that you're successfully working through this. The most important but hardest step is recognizing that something is there.
I love Legend, too!
I agree. The hardest part is coming out of Egypt. (Living in denial, you know.) ;)
I do try to live my life with a sense of humor and positive outlook. If I can't laugh about it, then something is seriously wrong.
I love Legend! And I've always known you're awesome--you're related to me, after all! ;)
Aww shucks. I'm just glad I have the sister I've always wanted. :D
