Where Am I...

So the epic battle of trying to get internet to my house still rages on!

I will be triumphant, I will. Win! As soon as someone calls me back that is. *coughs*

In the meantime, I am trying to post as often as I can. I know I can schedule posts... but sometimes that just feels like cheating! It's a good way to be active, true. Also, there are times when something new crops up right on the day I have a post scheduled. Never fails. But I suppose two posts from me in one day wouldn't hurt. Unless you all keel over from shock.

That would be bad.

So it is All Hallow's Eve!

I love this time of year. The movies, the costumes, the creative individuals who come up with some funny stuff. I don't think I'll get any Trick or Treaters. They do a Trunk or Treat around here. Everyone parks at the elementary school, decorates their vehicles and has fiends and candy alike coming out of their trunks. It's kind of a cool thing, and safer for the kiddos.

So I hope you all have a safe Halloween! I'll see you on the other side, The Day of the Dead!

Also, the stories that have been tweeting all this time up until now from our Midian authors will be here in their entirety on Friday. Have a great rest of your week!

This Is Halloween...

Okay, it's not Halloween yet, BUT it is the month of Halloween.

Hey, if Christmas gets to take over Thanksgiving, Halloween gets its own month!

I'm going to be posting on Twitter the rest of this month until Halloween with three different flash fiction stories from David Rex Bonnewell (@WickedlyWritten), John H Howard (@JHHoward) and Midge Cline (@ClineMidge).

I have a flash fiction piece up as well, but it was something I wrote a few years ago on Writing Dot Com for a contest. So it may be familiar to you. But I am also taking pictures and artwork that I feel relates to The BREED, and writing flash fiction for that as well.

If you'd like to follow me on Twitter, I'm @MLChesley and I am currently posting on the Midian Entertainment @MidianEntertain. I'm still kind of geeking out about all of this. It's amazing to have a great group of people all working together, writing, and creating this world.

I hope you all drop by and see what's going on and get to know us if it is your kind of thing. If not, pass it on to people you know who might like it.

Have a great rest of your week!

Cover Reveal: Shadow Blades by Midge Cline...

Hey gang!

I have yet another cover reveal for another book coming out from Midian Entertainment as part of The BREED.

Before I get into the cover reveal, though, I want to let you all know that starting today, there will be some flash fiction tweets on Twitter. John H. Howard, Midge Cline and David Rex Bonnewell have all written some short pieces to be sent over the Twitter feed from today until Halloween!

If you'd like to follow the stories, follow @MidianEntertain on Twitter!

I will also be posting pictures that I feel represent The BREED with bits of flash fiction as well, so you can begin to get to know the world. I'm so very excited we can start telling people about what's happening!

Okay, so on to the cover reveal!

This is Shadow Blades, by Midge Cline, cover art by Noie.

Tada!

All right, hope you all have a great rest of your week and I will see you soon!

Cover Reveal: Deadeye...

Hey all!

Well, as promised, here is the cover reveal for David Rex Bonnewell's book, Deadeye! Artwork was done by Carlos Villas. You can find more of his art here.

To follow all things Deadeye and get to know Dave's character, you can find the page for it here, on Facebook.

So the coolest thing about this is, Dave has written a three part series. Each cover will go together and become a panoramic scene! But this one right here, with the Razorback, I think he wants to jump off the cover and kill me. Lol!

Tell me what you think about the cover in the comments below! And don't forget to check out more artwork by Carlos Villas!

More Life...

My intentions to get back to blogging were solid. But then, I learned how difficult it is to get internet to my house! My goodness. I love my house and won't give it up for anything... except maybe internet!

Just kidding. But I am doing what I can with what I have between now and then. I hope you all enjoyed my guest post yesterday from Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc. (I love her name! LOL!)

Things are moving along around here where Midian Entertainment is concerned. I have one novel that won't make it for the January release, but lucky for me, I had another waiting in the wings.

I did a cover reveal on Twitter for my fellow author, David Rex Bonnewell, and I will be sharing that cover here on Friday! So watch this space! I have a couple more covers that will be coming out soon.

We'll be setting up pre-orders for all books in December. It's getting so close and we're all getting so excited. There's been very few details we've been allowed to share due to our NDA. But soon... Soon we'll be able to share with the world!

Have a great rest of your week, and I'll see you tomorrow with Dave's cover!

Special Guest Post: Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc...

Old authors never retire, they just…

Okay, well, I DID retire...and I enjoyed it.

I dabbled here and there...became a musician (my music has been heard in film, radio shows and on TV shows! One of my collections is under contract for use in stores as “shopping music”!) a hippie involved in all kinds of eco, humanitarian and animal rights causes and even started a very short lived magazine.

But...as my restless spirit dictated, I was never satisfied for long.

It wasn't until just a couple of weeks ago that I checked off another dream...I've become a photo artist.

I've always wanted to be an artist...any type of artist, but I can't even draw stick figures. Photo manipulation has always intrigued me, but I've never had the means...either the software was too expensive, or it was so difficult to use that, in tears, I gave up.

That's all changed now...and I'll be forever grateful.

Like I did with my writing, I've thrown myself, both feet into creating Phobophilia Surrealist Photography...and I've never been happier.

You can find (and even purchase if the wickedness moves you) my art at my official gallery on Deviant Art.

I post a new manipulation each day (sometimes two) so be sure to follow me there for updates.

So I missed the IWSG post yesterday... I really wanted to post. I got so caught up in everything, I forgot! But, it was a really good topic and I wrote a post for it before realizing I had missed it again. So here is my LATE post.

How do major life events affect your writing? Has writing ever helped you through something?

Oh, man...

It doesn't even have to be a major life event to affect my writing. Sometimes, minor ones derail the best laid plans.

I'll be sharing some pictures later this month of all the remodeling we've been working on in our new place. I've had all my craft stuff in storage and I'm using the work computer to post blogs because I don't have internet at my home. And I've used up all my hotspot data.

It's been a bummer the last few months. But this time around, this is when writing got me through it. I don't need internet to write, unless I need to research something, and then I use my phone. Thank goodness for that!

Crafting is my go to for relaxation and therapy. Writing helped fill that void when I couldn't do any crafts. I never thought that writing would do that for me. I felt like I always had to be "in the mood" to write. But, it's creating. And that is what crafting is. Writing is a craft and therefore, my therapy. So I am very thankful to have had the means to write during this life event. Whether it was a notebook and pen, my tablet or work computer, it helped me get through this.

And next week, I'll have Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc as a GUEST BLOGGER! Woohoo!

And tune in here Friday! I'll be doing a cover reveal for one of our Midian Entertainment authors, David Rex Bonnewell!
